Which bubbles to pop this weekend?!
This week for my wine list its all about bubbles because its the long thanksgiving weekend aaaannnd my birthday! As someone who is not naturally attracted to sparkling wine or champagne, I am not easily impressed by bubbles but these are not your average drink! This list is pretty authentic and solely based on my personal taste.
1. VEUVE CLICQUOT RICH
I have a soft spot for Veuve Clicquot. Their RICH edition champagne is quite impressive for the most part because it is best served on ice with vegetables or fruits! The smooth and sweet taste of the classic Veuve Clicquot is still dominent so when you add bell peppers or even black tea, it simply gives a fun aftertaste. The name says it all, it is quite rich in flavor!
2. MOET CHANDON IMPERIAL ROSÉ
Keeping up with the champagne on ice trend, MOET & CHANDON launched a rosé version that stands tall next to the others. The difference with this one I would say is that it's not as sweet and there is a lovely tart aftertaste. Still very easy to drink served really cold! I paired it with fresh seafood and it was perfect!
Smooth and nutty, the champagne Piper-Heisieck is perfectly balanced with the fruity aftertaste. I like to drink and discover brands that are not crazy marketers or everywhere. I put them in my 'quiet quality' listif that makes sense. Very well balanced and authentic is what I get from this one. Think of it as your 'go to' champagne for your oysters!
4. MARTINI PROSECCO ROSÉ
The last one is not from the Champagne region so it is considered a sparkling wine. Nonetheless it is a great, sweet and festive option for the weekend. What is great about sparkling wine is that the bubbles are not as strong so definitely an option for those who are not fans of champagne. A great drink to pair with cheese, light pasta or simply fruits!
Cheersto the weekend!
