Top 5 places to get your dresses this summer!

I often get messages from friends and clients concerning their endless dress hunt, everyone wants to know where they can get great dresses! A spot that will assure a sense of uniqueness and exclusivity. After my research ad personal experiences, I made a list of the places that never seem to dissapoint when its time to hunt for a hot dress. There are different prices and styles involved and of course they are all PLUS SIZE FRIENDLY! Enjoy!

1. HUDSON'S BAY

This store is one of my favorites!  Hudson's Bay carries an impressive selection of dresses for all shapes and sizes. You must visit the store because their website doesn't do them justice. No matter what your budget is, you are bound to find a dress you like. You can find brands like Karl Lagerfeld, Bagdley Mischka, Tahari, 424 fifth (Lord & Taylor)...just to name a few!

2. BOUTIQUE 1861

This boutique offers an impressive dress inventory that is worth looking into. The owner (buyer) really takes the time to find unique pieces at a very affordable price! You want to reduce the chances of having a twin (a girl wearing the same dress) at your next event? Well boutique 1861 might the place for you with their very few duplicates. Dresses are selling like hot cakes online so make sure that when you visit their site, your credit card is ready! They also have a few locations downtown Montreal.

3. LA BOUTIQUE CRÈME DE LA CRÈME

Finding a gown for plus size women is not an easy task because often times the styles that the designers suggest does not reflect my personality. I like a dress that is plus size but does not look plus size! Which mean a dress that flatters your body without overdoing it with the drapping and extra unecessary fabric. I visited la boutique Creme de la Creme located in Laval and was really pleased with their selection! The dresses are fashionable and unique! This one stop shop will definitely allow you to find your next dress.

4. LE CHATEAU

This Montreal staple has invested in the plus size industry and I am quite pleased with the results. Le Château has a great selection of evening gowns that go up to size 18!  Visiting the store in Carrefour Laval was a real treat! There were so many dresses to choose from and plus everything was in the same area, no plus size section which is very important. Check out their website to find exclusive pieces. Happy shopping!

I have to show you what made me happy last night while shopping at Le Chateau. I went to the store with my friend Lolitta from Fashion is Everywhere and when we came out of the dressing room we were wearing the same dress! Such a beautiful moment that showed that its ok to keep the same style in regular size and just produce bigger sizes so that we can look different but feel the same. Great fashion for all!

I just love this picture!

 5. LOUE 1 ROBE

Ever thought of renting a dress instead of buying it? Well it is possible with Loue 1 Robe! Set up an appointment, visit their showroom and pick out from hundreds of designer dresses (less options for plus size) that suit you. Want to wear an Elie Saab dress for less? You sure can! The concept is quite simple, with a small security deposit, you get to leave with the dress you love, wear it and return it a few days later. Renting dresses is becoming popular in Montreal only because its a smart and easy option. Especially if you have a lot of occasions, who wants to buy a new dress everytime something comes up? Like I said it is an option, not for everyone but an option to consider!
